The 1985 baseball season takes a pause as the Players Union goes on strike!  For a full 48 hours.  When the season resumes play, the Mets find themselves red-hot, on a seven game winning streak, and moving into sole possession of first place in the NL East.  Hear about some amazing performances such as a three-home run game by Darryl Strawberry, a two-home run game by Gary Carter, a 5 for 6 performance by Keith Hernandez, and the fourth complete game in a row by Dr. K!

July 29 - August 4, 1985

While the Franchise Tom Seaver may not be a Met in 1985, hear all about him achieving his 300th career win in front of a New York City crowd when his White Sox battle the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.  As for the Mets, hear about them wrapping up an amazing month of July that saw them go 21-7!  This episode also pays homage to the recently departed Ryne Sandberg.

July 22 - 28, 1985

This week, the Mets play the Reds as Pete Rose inches closer and closer to breaking Ty Cobb’s all-time hits record.  The team says goodbye to Kelvin Chapman.  And the Mets win a game by a score of 16-4… with all 16 runs scored as unearned.  Listen on in!

July 15 - 21, 1985

Relive the 1985 All Star Game as Darryl Strawberry does a fine job representing the Mets in the Mid-Summer Classic.  But a black cloud looms over baseball as failing labor negotiations cause the Players Association to set a strike date for early August.  Meanwhile, the second half of the season gets underway and the Mets score 31 runs over the course of two games!  Check it out!

July 8 - 14, 1985

The first half of the 1985 season comes to a close as the Mets wrap up a 9-game winning streak and move back up to second place in the NL East.  Find out who from the Mets is selected to the ‘85 All Star Game next week in Minneapolis.  Plus, in this week’s episode, Nolan Ryan gets his 4,000th career strikeout against his former team.  Check it out!

June 24 - 30, 1985

After missing seven weeks due to injury, Darryl Strawberry returns to the Mets’ lineup!  But the bats have run cold and the team is not hitting… at all.  Davey Johnson holds a team meeting, desperate to turn things around.  Hear all about it!

June 17 - 23, 1985

An exciting week for the Mets as they sweep the Cubs thanks to back-to-back-to-back complete games from Ron Darling, Ed Lynch and Dwight Gooden.  Plus Rusty Staub gets 50,000+ fans at Shea rocking as he hits what will be the final home run of his MLB career.  Listen on in!

June 10 - 16, 1985

The Mets get whupped by a score of 26-7 against the Phillies.  Gary Carter makes a homecoming when the Mets visit Montreal.  A new rookie, Rick Aguilera, makes his Mets debut.  Happy Father’s Day! 

June 3 - 9, 1985

The great Mets/Cardinals rivalry of 1985 is officially underway as the young, speedy Cards show the Mets how dangerous they are.  A gruesome outfield collision between Terry Blocker and Danny Heep caps off a pretty terrible week for the Mets as their June slide begins.  But listen on in anyway!
